Probability Trials

You just conducted an experiment using probability.

1)  Was your guess close to the actual results?  Why do you think it was or wasn't?

2)  What did this experiment have to do with Theoretical and Experimental Probability?

3)  What was the purpose of this activity?  What were you supposed to learn?

  1. Our guess was correct. We guessed that we would win 50% and we did.
This experiment had to do with Theoretical and Experimental Probability because we predicted what would happen which is the Theoretical Probability and found out what actually happened which is the Experimental Probability.
The purpose of this activity was to learn how you could have your Theoretical Probability be your Experimental Probability or how it could be completely different.

  2. 1) Yes, our guess was close to our final result. The probability of one person winning was higher chance than the other player.
    2) We thought the theoretical part of it was when we estimated with our sample space the chance of one player winning. The experimental part was the final result and what actually did happen, and that proved the theoretical probability right.
    3) I think we had to learn the difference between theoretical probability and experimental and signify the functions of both.

  3. our guess was almost correct, our guesses were about four numbers off.
This had to do with experimental probability and theoretical probability because we used both those things to figure out what would probably, and definitely happen when we played our game. The purpose of this activity was to find out how you can use these two things to make predictions about what can, and will happen.

  4. Our guess was nearly correct. Our guess different by 3 guesses. This experiment was about Theoretical Probability, because we had calculate our chances of wining and losing. Then we did the experiment which is the Experimental Probability. We were supposed to learn that the Theoretical and Experimental Probability can be same, but totally different as well.

  5. 1) no, our guess was not close to our final results.

    2) The experimental probability was better than theoretical, because not all the time it is correct.

    3) The purpose of this activity is to see if theoretical or experimental probability had a better chance of being correct.

  6. Our guess was almost accurate to the actual result. We were on two numbers off he guess.
The Experiment asked to find out the theoretical provability before it started and then after the experiment we discovered the experimental provability. We were meant to become more familiar with experimental and theoretical provability.

  7. Our guess was not correct however the result was close to our guess. Our theoretical probability was 50/50, however Sunny won; she got 59%. This game had to do with Theoretical and Experimental Probability because we made a theory that we would get 50/50, which is the Theoretical Probability and we found out that Sunny won by 69%, which is the Experimental Probability. I think the purpose of this activity is to find out what the difference between Theoretical and Experimental probability. We learned that Theoretical Probability and Experimental Probability can be really different and that Sunny is just an amazing player! ;)

    1) Our guess was really close to the result because my estimate was that I would win 40 wins but it turned out that I won 36 but I had just lost four times.
    2) This experiment had to do with theoretical and experimental probability and we know this because we had to first guess what our score was going to be which was the theoretical probability and then we actually found out what the result was which was the experimental probability.
    3) The main purpose of this activity was not only to learn about probability but also learning how to use theoretical probability and experimental probability in situations like this which is very important in this topic because it has a lot to do with probability.
